COMMUNITY – INTRODUCTION

Community is important to the Bordignon Property Group. Growing up, Karen and Linda moved frequently with their nomadic parents, so they understand the challenges associated with entering a new environment and establishing a sense of belonging. One of their aims, through creating and supporting groups close to their hearts, is to encourage connectedness within the local community and to welcome and facilitate people from all backgrounds into a safe and inclusive environment.

Pop in

Pop it On is guilt free retail therapy with a percentage of profits being passed on to Pop In; a domestic violence shelter based in Moss Vale, in the Southern Highlands. Karen and Linda are both survivors of a childhood informed by domestic violence and they understand the necessity for safe spaces for victims of domestic violence to escape to.
Pop It On has been created by Karen, and a group of friends, to provide a platform whereby people can sell on their pre-loved designer fashion and support a domestic violence charity at the same time.

The Winter Games

The Winter Games is an annual event which takes place, as its name suggests, during the colder months in the Highlands.
The idea for the games was born out of a discussion amongst a few cricket friends as to what winter sport they should participate in to ensure they stay active and social during winter. When a singular sport could not be agreed upon, they decided to create their own. Thus, The Winter Games was established. The event consists of ten, or more, individual ‘disciplines’- Clay Target Shooting, Dodgeball, Life Drawing, Darts, Table Tennis, Karaoke/Wild Card, Pool, Indoor Golf, Drag Bingo-Drag King/Queen and ten-pin bowling – held on either a Wednesday or Friday evening, run over three (3) consecutive months. The ethos behind it is to encourage community and to remain active and physically connected in a world that is becoming increasingly solitary through our dependence on technology.
As one of the creators and organisers of the games, Linda is an enthusiastic participant and proudly provides most of the sponsorship, under the Bordignon Property Group banner, to ensure the event continues to grow and to encourage human connection in a gently competitive environment.
